Before University I painted or drew things I saw on magazines or photos I took: bodies, faces, ballerinas and many flowers. They were the foundation of my experiment in different media, but no concept. By the time I left University, my work was abstract, political and deeply based on my personal reaction to current affairs. My favourite joke since, has been that one day I would come back to my flowers.

When the covid pandemic started, and eventually came to the UK, the whole incident shocked me. While other artists were getting inspiration about it or as a result of it, I was completely dry. Such a big current affair and I could not express in art.

I then withdrew to my garden. The garden became my safe haven, where I feel safe, content and comfortable. It has helping me to accept my new circumstance and the situation the world is facing.

All spring…

…My personal response to the current events was in front of me all the time. Flowers have been helping me to calm my emotions and to keep myself sane. They deserve my recognition in return.

Back to my flowers.
